Meet Samuel

Samuel is an 8 year old boy who is in the second grade. He has a smile that will light up any room he enters. He wants very much to have lots of friends, and he is learning how to be a good friend in exchange. Art is one of his strengths, and he often relaxes by coloring pictures. His favorite color is orange, but he has an amazing eye for which colors work well together. Another way that he likes to relax is through music and dance. He also likes building with Legos, jumping on the trampoline, and watching movies. He likes all of the Disney movies, especially “Toy Story.” Samuel struggles with school work but is learning to ask for help when he has difficulty. He loves school and hates missing days if he is sick.

Samuel has a heart that needs to be filled. He has experienced much instability in his life. He wants very much to find an adoptive family where he can belong “forever.” He would do best in a two parent home in which he is the only child or in which there are older, stable children. Samuel is learning to pray and wants a family that will continue to encourage his spirituality. Because he still struggles in social situations, he does not do well in after school care programs. He needs a family with a parent who will be at home when he is out of school. Samuel has a tendency to be impulsive and requires constant supervision and gentle redirection that may seem more appropriate to a much younger child.
