Malachai is a likeable 14 year old boy who is in the eighth grade. He is athletic and enjoys playing sports, especially basketball, football and baseball, and would like to play on a school team. He would love to have someone in his life who will make the time to play catch with him and help him improve his skills. Malachai also enjoys working on cars, and plans to be a truck mechanic when he grows up. He likes to relax by listening to music, especially Hip Hop, playing video games, playing on the computer, and spending time with friends.
Malachai has had to work hard at school, but he has recently come off his I.E.P. and is in regular classes. Malachai has not had much stability in his young life and hopes to find a forever family who will love him unconditionally. He would do best in a two parent family with parents who have age appropriate rules and expectations, and are able to help him talk problems through calmly. Malachai would be most likely to thrive with parents who are willing and able to spend a lot of time with him. He would love to have parents who would help him develop his athletic abilities and support him by coming to his games or sharing in his interest in repairing cars. He would do best in a family with brothers or no other children. Malachai recognizes the value of a family and wants to be part of one. He states “I want somebody to be there. I want someone I can call family. I want someone I can call Mom and Dad.”
