KB is 17 years old. KB needs a foster family who can act as a transition family for him as he prepares for Independent Living, and then be a resource family for him once he is on his own.
KB relates to others like that of a child who has Autism. A family who has experience with children in this population and understands their ways of relating to the world would be a great resource to KB. KB is very intelligent, and earns A’s and B’s in school. He is also quite mechanically inclined. KB likes animals of all sorts, especially horses. He also enjoys playing cards, board games, video games and building anything mechanical. He would love to work in a machine shop building cars or appliances. He does quite well working repetitive tasks and needs a parent’s assistance finding a volunteer position or better yet a paying job.
KB needs a family that is calm, quiet, who is nurturing but does not have high expectations of a lot of social interaction; one who will be satisfied knowing they are helping KB fulfill the special purpose of his life.
